The Earth and us

The Earth is an Amazing place…

We share this wonderful planet with many different animals and plants but there is so much more to our fantastic home.

In Māori culture the land, water and sky are equally part of the living planet all working together. These all possess a mauri (life force) and we all have to take care of these taonga (highly valued resources).

In Māori culture they use the term Kaitiakitanga which means it is our duty as guardians of the Earth to take care of the land, the sea and the sky for future generations.

Similar beliefs are shared by many other cultures across our planet. The Earth and everything on it must be respected, valued and cared for because everything is equally important in making this planet Amazing.
