Trees and native plants are important in helping to keep our precious Earth healthy. TOCK has heard about some wonderful tree planting events which are happening in the Christchurch district over the coming months so thought he would share them with you.Perhaps you might like to get involved in helping to plant some native trees with your family or school:-
Sunday 15th May: Charlesworth Reserve. Parking on Charlesworth St, 10 to 12
Saturday 28th May: Barnett Park 1 – 3pm
Saturday 25th June: Horseshoe Lake Reserve, 10 to 12. Meet at main carpark on Horseshoe Lake Road near the corner of Lake Terrace Road
Sunday 10th July: Styx Mill Conservation Reserve. Entrance can be gained from either Husseys Road (more parking) or Styx Mill Roan entrance (limited parking.) Just follow the signs. 10.30 to 12.30
Saturday 23rd July: Halswell Quarry Park, 10 to 12, follow signs from the Kennedys Rd carpark.
Sunday 7th August: Orton Bradley Park, 10 to 12, follow signs from the main entrance.
Saturday 20th August: Southshore Reserve, 10 to 12, follow signs from the entrance.
Sunday 28th August: The Groynes, 10.30 to 12.30 follow the signs from the main entrance
Saturday 17th September: Travis Wetland Reserve, 10-12. Follow the sings from the Beach Road carpark.
Sunday October; 9th Cranford Basin, , 10 to 12. This will be held at the 103 Philpots Road, Gumboots Highly Reccommended.
