Make A Seed Paper Gift
You Will Need:
Used paper
Scissors
Jug or bowl
Blender or food processor
Seeds
Sieve
Cookie or biscuit shape cutter
Tray
Parchment or Baking paper
Gloves and Food colouring (optional)
Instructions:
Get some used paper.
Rip into small pieces.
Soak in warm water in jug or bowl for 10 minutes (Add twice the amount of water to paper).
This bit requires an adult: Put the soaked mixture in a blender or food processor and blend until no large chunks are visible.
Add a few drops of food colouring if desired – stirring the mixture with gloved hands or spoon.
Remove the excess water by placing the mixture into a sieve and draining the water into a jug or bowl.
Carefully press the mixture to completely drain.
Sprinkle seeds onto the flattened pulp and carefully press seeds into the mixture.
Line a tray with parchment or baking paper.
Upturn the seed paper onto the parchment paper with the seed side to the base.
Using a cookie cutter press out an outline of the shape desired – heart, flower etc.
Put the tray into a warm dry location but out of direct sun.
Once dry, carefully cut around the shape outline – your seed paper is now ready to give as a gift. You could also write a special message or draw a picture on your seed paper but remember to do this on the non-seeded side.
